I now have two electric bikes in my garage. Converted a bike of mine a few months ago, then my wife wanted one for herself. Both we fairly straight forward to convert. Both are working great at this time.
During the pandemic I had a lot of extra time on my hands. I began to see a lot of people around the campus (Stanford) riding electric scooters and e-bikes. When I began to look into it I realized how expensive an e-bike can be. So I decided to pull out my 2004 specialized Hardrock Pro from the garage and purchase the 48 volt 1200 watt kit. Boy, was I surprised at how easy it was to install. This is now my daily commuter. I ride it from Newark California to Palo Alto California daily. 15 mi. Each way. I plug it in at work and she ready to roll when its time to go home. I save $6 on the toll and I save $12 for parking daily. On my commute I have to cross the Dumbarton Bridge going against 10 mile an hour wins. I go over the bridge at 20 miles an hour with no problem. It has been a year since I built this bike and it still rides like it does the first day I hopped on it. I'm not some **** who gets paid 2 review stuff. This is an honest review. With the money I saved in the last year I was able to go to Hawaii. If I may suggest one thing to those of you who are thinking of adding this to your mountain bike, it would be to get Cruiser tires. Something smooth. It added 5 miles per hour to my top speed. And may I add that I am 5 foot 10 and 240 lb. I am not a little dude. Do yourself a favor and get this kit. See it on ig aztekabron.
